How I Work

I Do Not Begin With Answers.

When someone brings me a problem, I do not begin by telling them what to do.
I begin by asking:
What are we trying to accomplish?
What problem are we actually solving?
What has already been tried?
What is creating the result we are looking at?
What may be missing?
Most people are looking at the visible problem.
I look for the methodology underneath it.

I Look for Evidence.

People and organizations do not always do what they say they do.
But their behavior leaves evidence.
What happens when the pressure increases?
What decision gets repeated?
What information gets ignored?
What does a person do when they are uncomfortable?
What does an organization do when something goes wrong?
What breaks down first?
What continues to work?
The answers reveal methodology.
A person may believe they are following one process.
Their repeated behavior may reveal another.
The same is true of a company, a team, a business, a player, a teacher, or a family.
Behavior leaves evidence of methodology.

I Find the Sequence.

Every result comes from a process.
Success is the outcome of the process that created it.
Failure is the outcome of the process that made it happen.
I look for the sequence.
What came first?
What came next?
What depended on what?
Where did the process become incomplete?
Where did it become confused?
Where did it begin to repeat the same result?
This is not about blaming people.
It is about understanding how things happen and why.
Sequence is the problem. Sequence is the answer.

I Separate the Objective From the Technique.

People often confuse a technique with a methodology.
A technique is one way of doing something.
A methodology organizes the techniques, principles, decisions, and sequence required to accomplish an objective.
When the objective is unclear, people collect techniques.
When the objective becomes clear, they can begin to see which technique belongs where—and which one does not.
That is how complexity begins to become understandable.

I Look for What Is Missing.

A methodology does not have to be terrible to be incomplete.
In fact, it can be very successful.
A person can get results for years.
A company can grow.
A process can appear to work beautifully.
Then something changes.
The pressure increases.
The environment changes.
The problem becomes larger.
The old way stops working.
That is when the question becomes:
What is missing?
This is often where the real work begins.

I Help Make the Methodology Visible.

When a methodology becomes visible, it can be examined.
When it can be examined, it can be improved.
When it can be improved, new possibilities become visible.
I do not begin by forcing people into my methodology.
I help them see their own.
I help them understand what is working, what is being repeated, what may be missing, and what needs to happen next.
That is how people begin to take control of their own process.

AI Makes the Work Faster—But Not Less Human.

AI can help organize information, compare possibilities, clarify questions, and make a sequence easier to see.
But AI does not replace judgment.
It does not decide what matters.
It does not carry responsibility for the outcome.
The human still has to understand the problem.
The human still has to decide.
Methodology is what allows human judgment and AI capability to work together.
Human + AI × Methodology = Superhuman Intelligence
